[edit] Location and Road Conditions

The Lückendorf border crossing is located on the southern outskirts on the street "Gabler Strasse" towards Petrovice (CZ). Further down, this road goes to Jablonné v Podještědí, formerly known as Deutsch Gabel. That is the reason why this trading route is still named after this old town, which is now part of the Czech Republic. In in the German state of Saxony the street has the number S 132, in Bohemia it is classified as II/270. In autumn 2007 the last threehundred meters on the German side were widened to enable it for busses too. The barrier on the border was removed by the German Federal Police on 20th December 2007. One day later this border crossing was officially upgraded from pedestrians to cars and busses. As this crossing never had any terminal buildings before Schengen, you would not find anything there.
